Gameplay
Other than the narrative play between the players, there are a couple concrete mechanics that will help facilitate the game.
Murder Mechanics
This Red Galla has been designated by the Council to be a purge, meaning those deemed unfit for the organisation will be killed.
It is planned for about half of the characters to die by the end of the LARP.
Before the start of the LARP there will be a draw of who will be ‘agents’, people tasked directly by the Council to tarnish the reputation of their given ‘target’.
At the end of the night, a vote will be orchestrated by the Speaker. Here each group will have to vote on one of their own to sacrifice. The person within a group with the most votes will then be killed by Infernis.
It is the job the ‘agent’ to make sure their ‘target’ gets voted out by the ‘target’s own group. Should the ‘agent’ fail, the ‘agent’ will instead be executed.
If a player is drawn to be an ‘agent’, they will immediately draw a character at random to be their ‘target’.
The ‘target’ will not be informed they are a ‘target’.
An ‘agent’ cannot draw a character from their own group to be their ‘target’. Should this happen, they will redraw.
Each group will have two ‘targets’ in total, meaning no matter what, at least one ‘agent’ will fail.
You can end up being both ‘agent’ and ‘target’.
If a group fails to vote one of their own out, or in the case of a tie, the Speaker will be the deciding vote.
All ‘agents’ and ‘targets’ will be drawn off-game Friday evening.
We kindly ask that you do not share your results with other players.
In the case of the drawing system ending up pairing people who have flagged each other in any capacity, the organizers will step in to change the results.
'The Tribute'
During the game all characters will at some point be prompted by the Speaker to follow them to an isolated room.
They will then be given a moment to write down a character secret and which will be gifted to the Council.
In-game this is a called ‘The Tribute’, a yearly ritual, where the members Infernis show loyalty to the Council by giving information that can be used against them.
If a player chooses to write down a lie, there may be in-game consequences.
Choose a secret you want to play on.
Once a player is finished writing their tribute, they must inform the Speaker, so the Speaker can get the next player.
'The Auction' & Valuta
Each character will have a bank account connected to their character sheet. This account represents the character’s disposable income, throughout the LARP.
Money is also used in ‘The Auction’, that will take place during the game. Here character secrets will be sold to the highest bidder.
Some characters start with financial troubles, which will be incentive to try and bargain for more money by giving away power.
The transfer of money occurs by writing a check (template given at the LARP), and then handing the check to an in-game staff member
Other activities
Besides the main game, other small activities will be arranged.
– A casino table with playing cards, where the characters can have suspenseful games.
– “Private” lounges, corners and rooms, where you can have an hidden moment to plan in secret.
– A war table, where the characters can bet and discuss on the events of an fictional war.
