About

On this page you can find general information about the LARP.

Introduction

Once a year, those who are above the law gather in a dark corner of modern society and pay tribute to their shrouded leaders. They gather to worship Infernis, the organisation that has given them all a place in high society, and just as easily could take it away.

Tech billionaires, corrupt activists and religious leaders are all counted amongst Infernis ranks, and on this evening they will all truly learn what consequences there is in trading one’s soul away for power. This year’s tribute will be more than just a lavish party, it will be a lesson those that survive will never forget.

In “Evening at the Red Galla”, the players take the roles of various prewritten characters with major influence on the world, and who are all subjects of the secret society “Infernis”.

These characters meet up yearly, to pay tribute to the Infernis Council, of which only one person’s identity is known.

That person is the Speaker, and is the character’s way of contacting the Council.

The yearly tribute is called the “Red Galla”, and is the setting for the LARP. While the Red Galla is usually a safe event to discuss all manner of dark secrets with the fellow members, this year, every character is on edge, as a major project they were all involved with, “Project X”, failed miserably and nearly revealed Infernis to the general public. Everyone is expecting punishment from the Council, but no one is certain how.

At the start of the LARP, some players will at random be chosen to become ‘agents’ tasked by Infernis, and will draw a target whom they must make sure does not survive the night. Each group must at the end of the night vote for one of their own people to be sacrificed. The job of the ‘agents’ is to make sure their own ‘target’ is chosen.

If the ‘agent’ fails in this endeavour, they will be executed.

The game is deliberately designed for many of the ‘agent’ to fail.

What is this LARP and what is it not?

This LARP is what we define as a “Nordic LARP”, where there is high focus on narrative play via player interactivity, and collaborative storytelling.

This LARP is not play to win, or trying to game the system. While the character should of course fight for their own survival, we want the players to make stories about the drama of losing at heavy costs.

This LARP is a satirical critique of those that abuse, and have abused, power throughout history and into the modern day. All players will take the roles of people who have deliberately hurt others for their own gain.

This LARP is not an excuse for bigotry. This is especially important, as players will take the roles of factions from all across the globe with backgrounds in various countries and cultures. This LARP aims to portray the evil of power, not of culture.

Setting, Tone & Themes

The setting of the LARP is a modern and formal gala-adjacent party, taking place in the year 2026.

Only people who are connected to the fictional shadow organization “Infernis” are invited.

The aesthetic of the LARP  focus on the wealth and luxury of high-society socialites, mixed with the paranoia of people who have gone too far, and are now dreading the consequences of their actions.

The tone is realistic, dark but exaggerated and the characters could play villains in a modern Bond film.

Our Canon / Topics to Avoid

The LARP takes place in a modern day alternate reality. We do this, as there are a couple of topics which are very relevant today, which we are not interested in exploring during this LARP. We would like for all attending players to avoid the following subject when in-game: Generative AI, Gaza, Zionism, MAGA, Invasion of Ukranie

To reiterate: these are not unimportant topics, but are they not topics we are interested in exploring in this LARP.

We DON'T play on...

On In-game Violence

Though violence is strictly looked down upon in-game between the members of Infernis, it is not prohibited. If you wish to conduct a scene that includes violence, you MUST consult every other person who would be included in the scene. Calibrate with them all, to make sure no-one is hurt. If in doubt, do not use violence.
